To the south west of Orlando there are a number of beautiful white sand beaches around the Clearwater and St. Petersburg area on the Gulf Coast and further south near Sarasota and Rotunda. It takes just over an hour to reach the coast. If you are in the area make sure that you go to the peir at Clearwater for the magnifcent sunset, but don't wait about to long for the perfect photo opportunity as the sunset is all over in about 2 minutes!
